In January of this year Friends of Nillumbik referred to the closure of the Diamond Creek School crossing and asked Council if any more cuts to services were planned. The Mayor's answer was no and yet we now hear of four more crossings which have been closed. It is common knowledge that it was the Balanced View Team's decision not to renew the contract of the former CEO and, given that the Shire now has to pay around $80,000 in appointing a new CEO, Friends of Nillumbik again ask if these school crossings will be reinstated and if there are to be more cuts to services?

The original purpose of Nillumbik Shire's existence was to be the Green Wedge shire and this was intended to be its main focus. Given the magnitude of the negative response to the recent Draft GWMP, Friends of Nillumbik ask Council to explain why this draft Plan seemed to lose this important focus and will Council be processing these submissions with the original strategic focus in mind?
