of Nillumbik asked Council: Is Nillumbik Shire Council is making a submission to the Parliamentary Committee Inquiry into Liveability in Melbourne? Cr Helen Coleman, Mayor, responded: Council has written and invited the Committee to meet in Nillumbik and officers will prepare a submission for Councillors’ consideration at a future meeting. Friends of Nillumbik asked Council: Given that for the Wattle Glen to Kinglake Recreation Trail, Melbourne Water has insisted on bridges being built across each gully, will the same standards be applied to the Panton Hill Bushland Reserves, that is, will trail bridges be built in the gullies before these reserves are considered for recreational horse riding trails and what will be the cost to ratepayers? Cr Helen Coleman, Mayor, responded: At this time, there is no final decision regarding location of trails, recommended users and timing of introduction, so any costs to Council cannot be established at this stage. The only proposed stream crossing in the Panton Hill Bushland Reserve System where Melbourne Water approval would be required is on Long Gully on the east side of Bunjil Reserve. This crossing would need to be approved by Melbourne Water and broadly conform with their guidelines. |
